Currently Tom and the Group are mixing and mastering the tracks for the pending release of PATUXENT, the group's 1st CD. The disc is comprised of 10 original compositions written by Tom Lagana. Tom is heard playing his electric guitar, but his steel and nylon string acoustic guitars make appearances on a number of tracks. Going for a unique sound, he assembled a variety of musicians to record with. Acclaimed saxophonist Chris Bacas lends his talent on tenor and soprano saxophone as well as flute on four tracks. Bassist Max Murray and Drummer/ Percussionist Todd Harrison are heard throughout the CD. Guest appearances by the Unified Jazz Ensemble's marimba/vibraphonist Mike Noonan, saxophonist Jeff Antoniuk, and drummer Marty Morrison are also featured. The tunes, ranging from solo classical guitar to quartet, from folk to modern jazz provided the tapestry from which the group worked. Recorded by Gantt Kushner at Gizmo Recording Company, the CD is slated for a late summer release. Next | Previous
